  For those looking for a way to skip the payment convenience fee, you can use their third party PSN online to look at your bill, and then enter the amount through your bank's bill pay service to mail them a check. I set a rough average amount to automatically pay each month, and then correct it to the actual billed amount when it posts to PSN. Yes, this is less convenient than Consumers Power who will simply charge the amount due to whatever account you wish without a fee and without needing to look it up, but it does work. Though BPW is less than efficient in handling their customer service interactions, the service itself is top notch, the power rarely goes out and when it does it is restored very quickly. Our requests for branch (on line) trimming have been handled very quickly through their third party contractor. Please share your customer service requests directly with BPW to help them potentially improve, they've been polite and responsive when I have pointed out how they can improve their customer interactions. As a branch of the City of Holland, sharing these things with the City Council may be helpful as well.

  Not happy. BPW is making me pay $90 deposit to re-start my service due to a couple bills in question. Maybe if they didn't make their billing so complicated that I wouldn't have this issue. Also DO NOT pay through the phone! I did a couple payments through their automated phone system! Those payments somehow never went through according to my bank account and now I'm paying the price. Unfortunately too, with the phone system, you don't get any sort of confirmation or recite so It's just my word against theirs and my word doesn't matter. Their autopay system does not work well either. I will say, the last CS rep i talked to was very nice and really did help me through to understanding what I was confused on.

  We recently moved from Illinois to Holland and had to stop in to get our electricity turned on. The man who helped us at the counter was welcoming, friendly, made us laugh and smile, and gave us some excellent tips on the local area. We recently had a power outage late at night and the BPW worked quickly to resolve this. BPW has a very detailed water quality report and cares a great deal about the community.
